Kush Maini will continue on the team’s roster of drivers for 2026 both serving in the team’s Alpine Academy and as Reserve Driver for BWT Alpine Formula One Team, alongside competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with ART Grand Prix.
Born in Bangalore, India, Kush made his karting debut in 2011 at 10 years old, competing across Europe and Asia and collecting various titles and accolades along the way – Champion in both 2011 JK Tyre National Karting Championship (Rotax Micromax) and 2015 26° Trofeo Andrea Margutti (KF Junior) and Vice-Champion in 2013 WSK Euro Series (60 Mini).
In 2016, he graduated to single seaters and finished third and second in the British Formula 3 Championship in 2018 and 2020, respectively. He progressed through the junior formulae, competing in FIA Formula 3 in 2022 and securing his first podium in Hungary with third place before he made the step up to FIA Formula 2 in 2023.
Kush joined the Alpine Academy in October 2023 ahead of the 2024 season, in which he competed in FIA Formula 2 with Invicta Racing and secured his maiden F2 win in Hungary. As a senior member of the Alpine Academy, Maini participated in the team’s Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) programme as well as representing the team at show run events such as Goodwood’s Festival of Speed. Kush was promoted to the Reserve Driver roster ahead of the 2025 season and made his official debut in a Formula One session when he drove the A525 in the Abu Dhabi post-season Young Driver Test.
