For this poster I wanted to challenge myself by recreating a corner like for like, and with the wall of champions at Canada being such a famous corner. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to have a go at doing this. I knew I wanted the poster to be primarily white and red to match the flags colours, and I wanted the sense of being on the limit at a corner where going slightly over the limit can have consequences.
Yes, so first of all I started by gathering images of the corner in real life, this included real life and top down views so I could accurately recreate the corner.
I then started on modelling the fencing. Trying to get it as accurate as possible to real life, before then add in the curbs and the run off.
I also wanted to add some marbles to reflect real life, whilst then working on the texturing and lighting. To finish I then stylised the look to fit in with the continuity and theme of this years posters.
I learnt a lot more about creating assets from scratch, which I will be able to utilise in future posters. I also worked more on lighting and texturing and fine tuning the details. Hopefully I can continue to learn and develop these skills in future posters to get them looking more and more detailed.
