Ciaron Pilbeam was appointed Technical Director – Performance at BWT Alpine Formula One Team in 2024, his latest role in a successful career across Formula One.
Ciaron’s career began at British American Racing where he took on various Race Engineer roles working with drivers including Jacques Villeneuve and Takuma Sato before joining Red Bull Racing in 2006. Ciaron worked as Mark Webber’s Race Engineer when the Australian joined the team and contributed to three Constructors’ World Championships during his six years with the Milton Keynes-based team.
In 2013, Ciaron joined Lotus F1 Team as Chief Race Engineer to Kimi Raikkonen before moving to McLaren for one season. He returned to Enstone in 2017 as Chief Race Engineer when the team was Renault Sport Formula One Team where he played a seminal role in leading the trackside engineering team.
